i took the stars from my eyes, and then i made a map,
i knew that some how, i could find my way back.
then i heard your heart beating, you were in the darkness too,
so i stayed in the darkness with you.

His fingers slid over the back of her hand as he looked down at her. He didn’t want to leave her alone, but at the same time he couldn’t deny her what she wanted. Wether it was because she really did desire the chocolate pudding pick me up, or if she just needed some time to morn alone. Who was he to deny he the things she needed, he’d rather be the one giving her those things. How far had they come? When had they gotten to the point where Finn found himself worrying about leaving her alone in this too empty hospital room. Didn’t they used to hate each other? Or at least find one another annoying? She used to infuriate him, he supposed she still did…. it just made him love her even more. “I’ll bring you two chocolate puddings. Anything else?” He asked, pressing his lips softly to her forehead.
When had they turned into these new people? Then again, she supposed losing something like a child did that, made them break down all those walls of cold they normally hid behind. Hell, they still had so many more challenges to overcome if they wanted to be together. The main one being his father and his reaction to everything, maybe they could leave the whole baby disaster out of it though. She was sure that would be uncomfortable enough without bringing this into it. She shook her head and squeezed his hand, shooting him a forced small smile as he seemed to hesitate by the door. As if leaving her alone would be a bad idea, but ever the strong one she managed to maintain her composure until she heard the door close behind him. She grabbed her pillow and buried her face into it, sobbing and clinging to it with her eyes firmly shut. She was trying her best to get it all out of her system before he came back.

There’s this one and

He was surprised at first to hear her start singing, unsure where the impromptu performance had come from. It was as though she was trying to comfort him with her words, not that he was surprised. She really was the strongest woman he knew, constantly thinking of everyone else before herself. So unlike his mother who has always been so much more concerned about how other’s actions would reflect on herself. Her voice was so beautiful like this, so emotional and so he squeezes her fingers more firmly as if to say that he agreed with words she sang to him. “I love you Quinn. I’m not going anywhere, we’re going to get through this.”
She could breathe a little easier, the fog in her mind seemed to clear leaving behind nothing but the moment. And sure, it could have been a better moment if they hadn’t just lost something, but she learned a long time ago that you had to take what you could get. Life was hardly ever fair. Tit for tat, among other useless cliches that had been created with the purpose of clinging to some small familiarity when things seemed bleak. “I love you too, Finn.” The more she said it the easier it seemed to flow from her lips. The more he said it the less hesitation in her mind. That was important, considering she was the type of girl who didn’t do well with hesitation. One whiff of a chance of a broken heart and she’d be out the door. The doctor walked in, making her sit a little straighter in the bed as he referred to her yet again as Mrs. Hudson, making another roll of her eyes occur. We’d like to keep you overnight. And she’d like to go home, it hardly seemed fair, and sure she probably lost a lot of blood, not to mention the psychological trauma, but she’d be dammed if she didn’t try. “Any chance I could go home today. Seriously, I’m totally fine.” Well, that wasn’t true, but if she could just get out of that stuffy place that reminded her of death, than maybe she could. She scoffed and fell back into the bed when he denied her that. Just like that he was gone. Leaving them in their bubble again. The realization of her loss seemed to hit her in waves, but she was already tired of crying in front of him. “Hey, could you grab me some, uhm, pudding. I think they have some in the cafeteria.”

He wiped the tear from her cheek, pressing his lips softly to her temple as he tried his best to sooth her. I mean… probably, but I’m not really too worried about it.” He said with a shrug, though that wasn’t entirely true. Of course he was worried that she might not want him now that he was available. Or that his father might have him kicked out of his office. There were so many things that could go wrong still, but he was trying his best to focus on the positive. “It’s worth it though…” He conceded, shrugging his shoulders lightly. “At least I’ve been honest.”
She chuckled slightly as she pulled him closer, moving his head to her chest. She appreciated the fact that he felt he had to be strong all the time but she could sense the hesitation behind his eyes, like he would still lose her, like he was worried about his future. But at least with him by her side everything seemed a little easier. She didn’t know how it happened, since she had never exactly been the softest of people, but she knew this was as difficult on him as it was on her. So she pressed a kiss to the top of his head as her hands wound into his hair and caressed as she started singing lowly, almost as if it were some sort of secret meant to be shared only by them.

“Hey… hey don’t go there. We will deal with that if we have to…. right now you’re okay, and we’re here together, and we have to focus on that.” He pressed his lips to hers, spontaneously pressing them to her forehead before pulling back. He didn’t want to think about anything other than the two of them there in that moment. If he thought too much about what they could have had, or what they might have to face it would all be too much. But her, he could focus on her no problem. “I’m also definitely not a knuckle head, not everyone is as brave as you.”
we. It was such a simple word but damn if it didn’t fill her with a sense of comfort. It meant she wasn’t alone anymore, and that was something she needed more than she would ever admit to, mainly because she was too proud to. She moved her head to his shoulder, pressing a soft kiss to his neck before resting her forehead against his neck. “I know it wasn’t easy, but… It means so much that you did. Not just for me, but it was about time you stood up to him… Is he mad?” An unexpected tear rolled down her cheek, which annoyed her. It was bad enough she’d lost something tangible, but now she was going to lose her strength too?
